I didn't see textbook definitions of "entrenched power", "inheritance", or "slavery" there. Every bit of this conversation has to include generations of wealth that accumulated or did not accumulate because of slavery status, current slavery at the hands of private prisons, and systemic issues such as a war on "drugs" which targets certain populations over others. Those are just some of the issues that are way more important than the hurt feelings of those that have all of the power built up over generations and are now not wanting to give it up.
