Not really. If you take the amount of arable land on Earth and divide by the world population you get a little less than one. 1 acre per person.

So, assuming the 5 acres per person needed to survive (without destroying the land with petrochemical fertilizers), we need to at the very least decrease the population by a factor of 5 to live without constant petrochemical inputs.

That doesn't take into account other raw materials that are being consumed and used up constantly.
