The other issue is the military. This inhumane system you describe is very good at producing weapons of war and people who enjoy using them. You can speak as much as you want about other systems being better and more humane, but those systems need to be able to defend themselves as well. When people in Europe start discussing a pan European military they get laughed off the stage. But does anyone think any individual country in Europe could stand up to military pressure from China? From the USA? The whole apparatus couldn’t even keep Crimea from being swallowed up.
