The problem is the very existence of cars is not sustainable. Vehicles for transporting goods from point to point in an efficient hub/spoke system make sense. For transporting people with mobility issues, it makes sense as well. For transporting human beings because they are too lazy to walk a bit to a bus or tram stop? Not at all.
