The United States has installed murderous dictators around the world...including Hussein, Pinochet and others. We were the ones who gave the Taliban weapons and power in the first place. The only places we have had any success with democratic governments are places where we have tens of thousands of troops stationed for decades. And even some of those places are still very shaky.
